About Convention

Indian Technical higher education system has tremendous pressure to create socially responsible skilled technical manpower. A large number of engineers that graduate from Indian Technical Universities fail to meet current industry requirements leading to an employability crisis. The universities and technical institutions need to rethink conventional teaching practices and bring in technology enabled and research oriented teaching methods to open up new horizons for the student community. The ISTE – 48th National Annual Faculty Convention - 2019 at VTU Belagavi provides a platform for educationists, policy makers and other stake holders to discuss and deliberate views on the theme “Technical Education for Smart Society”.
